A Mellila communique states thatSpanish forces, supported by aeroplanes and artillery, which were escorting convoys to the Tizziassa position, encountered a Moorish force numbering 7000. A fierce prolonged engagement was fought, and the Spaniards lost 400 killed and wounded, while the Moors' losses were much heavier. They were mowed down by artiller.".
