The death is announced (says the New Zealand Herald) of Mr Albert Taylor, at his residence, Rostellan, Esplanade Road, Mount Eden, on Saturday, at the age of 83 years. Mr Taylor arrived in New Zealand in the sailing ship Ida Zeigler, landing in Auckland on October 29, 1864, under what was known as the "40-acre system/ H© was engaged as a builder for several years, and in 1574 joined the New Zealand Railways, continuing in that service for over 30 years, the last half of which he served as car and wagon inspector on the Auckland-Wellington and Taranaki-Napier sections respectively. Retiring on superannuation in 1904, he returned to Auckland, where he had remained" since. He was a prominent member and speaker of tho Christadelphiau fraternity". He is survived by his second wife, two sons, and three daughters of his first marriage. There are 15 great-grandchildren. Mr A. L. Monteith.
