TUNNEL FATALITY.

WOMAN'S TERRIBLE INJURY

(by telegraph —press association ) CHRISTCHURCH, May 20. The third fatality in the Lyttelton tunnel within ten weeks occurred last night, when a woman of 42 (the wife of a Christehurch resident), who had escaped from"Sunnyside Mental Hospital at 4.30 in the afternoon, received terrible injuries, from which she died in the Christehurch Hospital. When last seen the woman was* standing on the platform, just, as the 5.25 train from Christehurch left Heathcote station to enter the tunnel.

At an inquest to-day the medical superintendent of Sunnyside gave evidepce thaj-- the woman "probably l com-rift+--5c7 s-:i-;ide ? as ?he had shown sui"•lal The inquest wae adorned. The woman leaves a family of seven 'children.
