EG MONT-WANG ANUI CLUB

The following report makes a number of corrections to the report published on Tuesday:—The EgmontWanganui Hunt Club held their opening meet at Messrs Lupton Bros., Stainley Park, Waverley, on Saturday, in perfect weather. By 1 p.m. a large*' orowd of huntsmen had gathered at the homestead waiting for the throwoff, which took place up to time.' About fifty straightgoers and a number of motorists were* on the field. The fences were in good order and some good jumping was witnessed. Although, hares were scarce and no kills were made, there were several good runs. Near tl/e end of the afternoon's sport, Mr G. Scown had the misfortune to meet with an accident, the rider being slighly bruised and shaken, but seriously injuring his horse. About 4 o'clock the large party made their way back to the homestead, where they were entertained at afternoon tea. The master, in a short speech, thanked the hostesses for their kind and liberal entertaining, also the owners of the property hunted over. Mr. Lupton briefly acknowledged the kind remarks.
