May 2. : i The preliminary hearing of the charge jof manslaughter against Thomas Francis Bailey, as a result of the death at Karori of a boy n^ed 13 years, named Herbert Reginald Johnstone, through . being knocked down by a motor-car driven by accused, occupied the court to-day. Accused pleaded not guilty and was committed to the Supreme Court for trial. Bail was fixed *at £100. ;
