I The Anglican Diocesan Synod carried a motion that Church people be recom-, mended to vote prohibition at the forth-' coming poll, the voting being: Clergy 42 to 25, laity 20 to 16. j The Synod rejected an amendment on the lines of the last General Synod's, resolution, to the effect that the Synod j should express its strong conviction that it is the bounden duty of Christian' people, unless they are prepared to votefor the total prohibition of the liquor. traffic, to have some other drastic remedy for the evil which is sapping the work and efficiency of the community, the voting being: Clergy 37 to a32,'laity 15 to 21. j
