The death took place at Oaonui last Friday of Mrs. Agnes Malcolm, wife of Mr. Robert Malcolm, at the age of 86 years. The late Mrs. Malcolm was born at Kilmarnock, Scotland, in 1836, and came to New Zealand about 60 years ago, settling at Oaonui about 36 years ago. Besides her husband, she is survived by four daughters and two sons, two daughters (Agnes and an infant daughter) having: predeceased her. The daughters are Mrs. M. Carlson (G-lagow), Mr. A. Camnbell (Dunedin), Mrs. A. Lusk (Oaonui), Mrs O. L. Allan (New Plymouth), and the sons are Messrs. Robert (Opunake) and James (Oaonui). At a meeting of the Stratford Jersey Breeders' Club on Wednesday, Mr. D. O'Sullivan, on behalf of the members, presented Mr. Frank Ranford with a silver-mounted fountain pen as a small token of appreciation of Mr. Ranford's services as a member of the Jersey Breeders' Counclr. In returning thanks, Mr. Ranford said it had always been a pleasure to represent the Stratford breeders on the council. Although he was not returned at" the last election of members, he still had the interests of the breeders at heart, and anything he had done in the oast j he would continue to do in the future.
