Changing circumstances in the past ' few years have~shown existing conditions of contract between owner and builder to be defective in some important respects, in so far as they offer insufficient safeguard" to building owners. J. G. Coates) had authorised the conversion of two wires to Taranaki a,nd t# Hawke s Bay into metallic circuits. Previously it had been possible to speak to either of these places when pressure vvas off the lines at night, but a continuous service will shortly be available. Up to the present the users of "Shell" Motor Spirits have been handi. capped owing to having to nay extra freight from Wellington. 'Arrangements have now been made for a small shipment of "Shell Motor Spirits to come direct to New Plymouth per M.V.; Hermes, which is due at New Plymouth on November 1. The Farm- ; ers' Co-op., Taranaki distributors for "Shell" products, are now booking orders for delivery direct ex this vessel, and any intending purchasers are advised to order promptly as the supply is limited. j "Dame Fashion" trusts to renew tbe acquaintanceship of all her old friends and also to m*ke many new ones, during •■he present -".son.
