Sir Francis Bell received a deputation of the New Zealand and Australian Agents' Association, who urged the necessity for reducing the heavy taxation on companies having their head offices in London, and asking that the New Zealand Government should sanction thep roposals of the New Zealand Taxation Committee, particularly the removal of the double income tax and the adoption of an individual system of taxation. The deputation pointed out that some companies were taxed tothe extent of lis 9d in the £, in addition tio the British corporation profits tax. Sir Francis Bell promised to laj the deputation's views before the Government. He said he and the Government recognised that the companies were doing good work for the Dominion, and instead of crippling them by taxation, their suggestions should' receive consideration as far as practicable.
