OPENING OF ELTHAM GREEN.

(From Our Own Correspondent.) The official opening of the bowlinz season took place- oil Thursday afternoon There was a large attendance or old and new bowlers, and also a record crowd of onlookers. The president of the club (Mr. Tiplady), in an appropriate little speech, declared the gfreea open for play. The season promises to be a record one, as there are a number , of new members, and the old ones are just as enthusiastic as ever. Afternoon tea was provided by the ladies. A shower of rain later in the afternoon, however, necessitated a cessation of play, much to the regret of the enthusiastic players.
