The King gave an audience to Sir William Allardyce, formerly Governor of Tasmania, on his appointment as Governor of NewfoundlandMr. P. Hally, who has been to N»w Plymouth in connection with a "sitting of the Conciliation Council to consider a point in regard to the recently-made Dominion award for the baking trade, left on his return home by the^inail train this morning. The Rev. Father Saunderson, who was formerly stationed at Manaia, is suffering from encephalitis. He is making good progress, but it is expected that it will be 18 months before he has completely recovered.
