GOLF.

The ladies are closing their golf • season on Wednesday, the 18th inst. Play will start at 10 a.m. with an 18----hole bogey competition in the morning, to be followed by putting, driving, approaching, and putting competitions in the:, afternoon. After afternoon tea the trophies for the season will be presented by the president (Mrs. A. S. Tonks).

The annual match between the Wanganui Club and a team selected from the various, clubs in Tarahaki will be played at Hawera to-morrow. The Wanganui Club 'are sending tiieir strongest team, including J. Goss, winner of the Hawke's Bay and Wanganui championships. The , Hawera links are at present in splendid order. Goss v.
