GOLF.
The ladies are closing their golf • season on Wednesday, the 18th inst. Play will start at 10 a.m. with an 18----hole bogey competition in the morning, to be followed by putting, driving, approaching, and putting competitions in the:, afternoon. After afternoon tea the trophies for the season will be presented by the president (Mrs. A. S. Tonks).
The annual match between the Wanganui Club and a team selected from the various, clubs in Tarahaki will be played at Hawera to-morrow. The Wanganui Club 'are sending tiieir strongest team, including J. Goss, winner of the Hawke's Bay and Wanganui championships. The , Hawera links are at present in splendid order. Goss v. O'Callaghan, Safunders v. J. Quin, Harbia v. Chong, Dr. Williams v. L. Quin, Wybourne v. A. Smith, Meldrum v. P. Wright, Parkesv. Pulley, Harrison v. Mackay, Hussey v. Ross, Powdrell v. C. H. Walker, Bevah v. Sutton, Dr. Earle v. V. Elliott, Golding-. ham v. Stewart, Wopn v. Ryan, D'Arcy v, H. S. Elliott, H. P. Williams v. Fowler, Cunningham v. Cox, Zeisler. v. Hayhurstj Jack v. H. Thomson, Parsons v. Salmon. Theorder of the Taranaki team is not quite definite.
