SUSPECTED COUNTERFEIT COINING. '

AUCKLAND, Oct. 12. / The pflStss 'to-night,'• armed with a search warrant, visited the residence in ; Grey street of Thomas Nelson Mellors,1 aged about 35, suspected of being concerned with the recent circulation of counterfeit coins. Mellors, who'occupied a portion of an apartment house in Grey street, is stated to have been discovered in the act of making coins, and was arrested. ;::

About fifty counterfeit half-crowns and florins-, and five moulds for making these coins and shillings, together; with constituent coins, were, discovered on .the premises, which Mellors'haS,occupied for about six months.
