Mr. Clement of Auckland, is at present seriously ill, and has had to postpone a proposed lecture tour of the Dominion.

A London message says that the Duke of York has gone to Roumania to represent the King and Queen at King Ferdinand's coronation.

At the meeting of the Patea County Councir on Tuesday a vote of sincere sympathy with. Mr. J. Verry, of Moaraahaki, was passed on the ead^death of his son.

The Rev. Dr. Gumming, M.A., M.Sc, of Dunedin, who is professor of Hebrew at the Southern University, was last night nominated by the Wellington Presbytery for the moderatorship of the General Assembly.—Press Assn.

The Dominion organiser of the New Zealand Farmers' Union (Mr. S. K. MacLennan) is at present in Hawera with a view to extending the local work of the union, and, where possible, forming new branches, and would be pleased to meet farmers interested in the movement.

The many friends of Mr. Ron. Macdonald, who left New Plymouth some weeks ago for Honolulu, will regret to learn that, following sunstroke, he has had a paralytic seizure. He is now on his way back under medical supervision, and cable r>ews received from Suva on Monday by his brother, Mr. A^ B. Macdonald, was such as to cause grave anxiety.

A Wellington Press Association message states that the conference of Operatic Societies' representatives at Wellington last week* appointed Mr. T. Foster, at present touring with the Nellie Bra-mley Dramatic Company, to the position of Dominion producer. This caused the impression that Mr. Foster was leaving the Nellie Bramley Company, but the Press Association is requested to state that the new appointment in nowise affects his present position.
