NEW ZEALANDERS IN SYDNEY

He lost the doubles with Graham against Anderson and Spratt 6—B, 4—6, 6—2, \ 5—7. Aitken failed to dovetail with his partner's play, but was responsible : for the lion's share of the work.^ He has not yet struck form, but his driving and smashes were excellent.
