MANAIA CLUB. j °" (From Our Own Correspondent). The general meeting of the Manaia Golf Club was held on Thursday evening in Mr A. G. Bennett's offices. Dr. Maunsell being in the chair. The chair-! man said he was very dissappointed with the members nqj turning up toj form a working bee to improve the.; links. He said that if they could not, roll up, to give a small donation foi^ that purpose. j It was decided to admit honorary j members at a fee of ss. Miss Elliott' was appointed secretary. The following! were appointed a ; ladies' committee:'* Mesdames Mauir/11, A. H. Christie and_ Misses Jones and Mead and the secre-j "tary- . „ I It was resolved that the services of a coach be secured, provided that a- sufficient number of members take lessons -to defray the expenses. , " | The season will be opened in the first j week in May. and an endeavour will be: made to have the visit from the coach * a* week later. j It was decided to affiliate the Ladies' i Club with the Ladies- Golf Union. Mr; Bennett generously offered to pay the subscription. . j The season will be oponed with a nine hole mixed foursome. It was resolved that green fees, of Is. for ladies and Is 6d for gentlemen per, day be charged to visitors, any suchi visitor to be introduced by a member of | the club. For visitors staying over aperiod the charges will be 5s for the first week and 2s 6d for each subsequent week, for tfcte half season 20s for.ladies , and 25s lot gentlemen. The chairman hoped that all the members would roll up for the working bee to be held on the links. j A hearty vote of thanks was accorded to Mr A. G. Bennett for the use of office, also to the chairman. The meeting then closed.
