At the annual meeting of the New Zealand Hockey Association, Mr. Goodman was elected president and Miss Quarterman secretary. - It was resolved that it be an instruction to the incoming committee to arrange for a conference of referees at Wellington with the object of forming a New Zealand Hockey Referees' Association. The policy of arranging for Island tournaments on the lines of that conducted at Timaru last season was discussed, and it was decided to recommend the committee to grant Otago's application for a tournament this year. It was stated that the New South Wales Association was prepared to send a team to tour the Dominion, provided the expenses of the team were pa: d. The chairman stated that a strong effort would be made to secure the presence, of the team prior to the meeting. 7 , A special meeting of the delegates is to be held to consider the notice of motion by the Wellington Association providing for a ballot to be taken by mail direct by affiliated associations in the event of a change of headquarters being desired. As the motion conflicted with the existing rules the chairman held that it "\vas out of order, but the meeting agreed to hear the views of the Wellington delegate, who said that the motion was really a, step towards changing the headquarters of the Association. Hockey was mrch stronger in the North Island, therefore the headquarters should bo there. It was decided that the matter be left over to be dealt with, by Wellington. A motion by Wellington to alter tlie proportion of votes necessary to alter any rule from "two-thirds'' to "threefifths'' was lost on the ballot.
