The Australian Press Association had an interview with Mr Jowett, who stated he considers Manchester is likely to provide an increasing outlet for Australian meat and other products if shipped in vessels actually discharginjg at Manchester, whose people had expended vast sums on the canal, docks, and cold stores, w rhich were magnificently equipped. Therefore he strongly advised Australian meat producers to ship direct to Manchester. AlreadyNew Zealand w-as shipping there direct, __ . and may obtain command of the market unless Australia acts quickly.
