The New York World states that fourteen of the largest independent steel companies in the United States, including the Mid vale and Republic ' iron and s£eel companies, will shortly j form a combination of an aggregate value of eight hundred million and a billion dollars. The corporation will J be second only to the United States j Steel Corporation.
