Advices from Nairobi state that the whole of Kenya province is cut off from Nairobi, as the result of a subsidence in the papyrus swamp, on the Thika railway. The swamp, which is miles long and half a mile wide, suddenly Broke vp 9 and carried away the main road and bridges, and damaged the railway The subsidence is believed to be the result of earthquakes in the vicinity. Water is pouring from subterranean caverns, and the swamp is becoming a rushing river 60- feet wide. A new valley has been cieated.
