OPUNAKE TOURNAMENT FINALS

The final games in the pairs tournament, which were played on Monday, proved very keen. In the game against Neilson Julian was successful, the score being Julian 20, Neilson 12. In the play-off between Mason and Julian the latter was again successful, winning by three points, the score being Mason 15, Julian 18.

Mr. G. Hammond, president of the Opunake Cub, in a happy speech, congratulated the winning pair, and presented them with the handsome gold medals donated to the committee by Mr. J. Feaver, senr. Mr. Julian, on behalf of his lead, Mr. A. Campbell, and himself, suitably replied.
