ORANGE LODGE.
ANNUAL SESSION
(BY TELEGRAPH —PRESS ASSOCIATION.}
AUCKLAND, April 15. The annual session of the Loyal Orange Institution of New Zealand, preceded by a session of the Pronvincial Black Chapter of Ireland, has opened. The Provincial Grand Master, the Rev. Knowles Smith, who presided, said the ■ past^ year had ben a memorable one for Ulster. The Protestants had faced the changes involved in the British Government's proposals with a true spirit and earnest desire to co-operate in all measures leading to peace and prosperity for their land. As far as the Knights of Ireland were concerned the utmost would be done and given for the brethren across the sea. Let them make known their need, and the New Zealand Knights would prove to the full the real bond of brotherhood. He expressed a belief that "the cause of Protestantism would be carried forward to a complete victory against the disintegration forces now prominent,1' and emphasised the necessity for greater organisation of the Protestant vote in view of the general election.
