WAIROA( April 15. In the small hours of Thursday, Miss I'Foot's 'residence was entered by burglargs, and a quantity of jewels and 'Clothing were taken. On Thursday evening a note was found on the lawn of :i Sergeant "Wiade's residence stating tit at the stolen articles were concealed um'er a bridge, where four cross roads met, near the river. A search was made and "the articles were found intact near the •creek, with the exception of a small ;sum of money, which the letter stateci had been kept.io buy food, as the writer lhad nothing to eat all day. The police -are making further enquiries.
