The management committee of the New Zealand Cricket Council has decided to purchase a suitable gift and present it to Warwick Armstrong from the cricketers of New Zealand,, as a memento of his many tours in New Zealand.

The interim balance-sheet of the inter-island match showed an approximate loss of £63 16s lid.

Letters received from A. '-C. McLaren were ,to the effect that, the team he is bringing to New Zealand and Australia would be an M.C.O. team selected l»y him and captained by him. The latest communication- received by the .council, was from F. E. Lacey, secretary of the M.C.C., received on March 30, as follows^ "A team under McLaren has been sanctioned subject to satisfactory arrangements."

The members of the management committee were of opinion that the team would come out under the control o5 the M.C.C., and that "satisfactory arrangements" probably referred to financial arrangements.

It was decided to recommend to the quarterly meeting that owing to the -divergence of opinion regarding the Hawke Cup competition, the council invite challenges from all minor associations desiring to play for the Hawke Cup during next season, such, challenges to lie sent in before November 1, th« management committee to allocate matches in the order it thinks reasonable.
