EXCESSIVE VALUATIONS
(BY TELEGEAPH —PEESS ASSOCIATION.) TAIHAPE, Aug. ,11. A large and representative meeting of settlers was held at Taihape on Wednesday_ everfing, at which the following resolution was carried unanimously: That in view of the recent fall in land values, as borne out by the president of the Land Valuations Assessment Court held at Marton, the ValuerGeneral be urged to reconsider the excessive valuations of land in the tour northern ridings of the Rangitikei County; further that to avoid delay that would he involved in the new valuation, the Valuer-General be requested to make a substantial reduction in the valuations of all lands m the said ridings.
