(Reuter.) (Received Juk 11, ,8.45 am.) ,- TOKIO, July 9. ' Widespread industrial unrest is reported, . culminating in minor strikes at many places. There have been extensive strikes in the Kobe shipyards, accompanied by riotous demonstrations. The men at Kawasaki dockyard, ./■ whioh employs 20,000, struck owing to the employers refusing, permission to form a union. At the MitsubisHi yard 2000 men walked out because of the temporary dismissal of some employees. The, strikers paraded with banner inscribed "Down witK capitalism." Many clashes have, occurred with police, several serious casualties feeing reported. The Government arsenal at Tokio, employing 15,000 men, was the scene of considerable trouble on the men demanding an eight-houjr day with ten hours' pay. The delegation attempted to see the Premier and the Minister for War, the latter agreeing \to meet the men on Sunday to discuss general labour questionsSeveral of the factories have anticipated the wage increase demands by closing down. The number of unemployed is steadily increasing.
