At yesterday's meeting of the Wanganui- Waitotara Patriotic Asosciation, the chairman (Mr T. B. Williams) referred in sympathetic terms to the regrettable death of Mr W. D. Powdrell, M.P. for Patea. Mr Williams eulogised tbe deceased gentleman's estimable qualities as a public man, and on his motion it was resolved that the secretary convey to the bereaved relatives an expression of the Association's sincere ■ sympathy and condolence. The motion was carried by silent vote. — i Chronicle. Before the commencement of the general business at the meeting of the Waitotara County Council yesterday, the chairman (Mr W. Morrison", spoke briefly of the services performed for the community by the late Mr W. D. Pow- \ drell, whose untimely death, he said, was to be deplored. He moved that the Council deeply regret Mr Powdrell's death, and that a letter of sympathy be sent to Mrs Powdrell. The resolution was carried nuanimously, all present standing in silence.
