SNIPPING TROUBLES
STEWARDS' DISPUTE
BY CABLE—PEESS ASSOCIATION—COPYRIGHT (Received Dee. 16, 12.20 p.m.) SYDNEY, Dec. 16. The Ulimaroa, which was due to sailfor Wellington to-day, is among the -ships affected by the stewards' dispute. 'Her stewards' twenty-four hours' notice -expired last night, and unless a settlement is arrived at the indications are "that her sailing will be postponed. •
The stewards aboard the Codma, Levuka, and Arawata tendered notices -of leaving the vessels. Two of the latter left the vessels before the notices ■expired.
It is stated that the. Sydney seamen will strike in sympathy with the Tasmanian seamen who are engaged in a -dispute with the owners.
