TIMBER SALES.
CHRISTCHURCH, Dec. 15 In connection with sales of timber*'by auction, the Board of Trade has been asked to give its ruling as to whether the building regulations respecting the sale of timber by merchants must apply. The Board has decided that purchasers of timber at auction must satisfy the auctioneer that the timber is needed in respect of building operations for which permits are held.
