LONDON, July 17.

The Washington correspondent of the Morning Post states that before the Anglo-Japanese Treaty is renewed the Premiers of the British Empire will confer, probably in Western Canada, either at Victoria or Vancouver.

This will be the first time the Dominion Premiers will be assembled in conference outside London, and it will appeal to the imagination to hold the meeting in one of the western outposts of Empire. Hence, a city in Western Canada will be sdected instead of Ottawa. If circumstances permit, Mr Lloyd George and Lord Curzon will attend.

Washington has been advised of the proposed conference, and it is keenly interested, owing to the strained relations, which are not critical, but may, ■at any time, give cause for grave
