NELSON FACTORIES REDUCING
HANDS
(BY TELEGBAPH—PRESS ASSOCIATION.) NELSON, June 15. One of the first 6erious aspects of Nelson's acute sugar shortage is the effect on Kirkpatrick's jam factory and Griffin's biscuit factory. Both have had to take the drastic step of reducing their hands, including married men. Only the chocolate department is working at Griffin's, and further curtailments at Kirkpatrick's are threatened.
