W. A. OFFICER'S HERD

There was another very large attendance at the sale of pedigree and grade Jersey 'cattle conducted by Mr Newton King, at his Inglewood; yards yesterday, on behalf of Mr W.A. Officer (says the News). .Ihe demand was again very keen, and everything submitted was sold at very satisfactory prices, with the exception of the bull' Belvedere. Sun King, which did not reach the reserve. The cattle, which had not been rugged, were in good condition, but were naturally a little rough. The quality, however, was ' there, as may be* judged from the fact! that a 2-year-old heifer, Piakau's ! Jewel, bred by F. Dodunski, realised j the record price of 240 guineas, being ' purchased by A. Western, of Manaia. I Another heifer bred by Mr W. H. Tippins, Norfolk Park's Mermaid, realised 151 guineas, being secured by J. Dobson, of Kaimata, The eight 2-year-old heifers averaged" 111 guineas. Top I price for cows was realised by the 3- ! year-old Cream K.C., bred by Mr W. j ,H. Tippins, which realised 230 guineas, A. L. Hooper, Mahoe, being the purchaser. Molina's Pride, bred by J. D. Healy, was purchased by H. Salway, of Bell Block,,at 220 guineas. The 18 cows (submitted averaged 93_- guineas. In all 28 animals were sold, realising a total of 2682 guineas. Grade cows fetched up to £38, and heifers up to £21. A pedigree bull, Noble Clem, on account of W. G. Haylock, was sold to E. Harper (Ngaere) for 56 guineas. i Following are South Taranaki buyers:
