HAWERA GUN CLUB.

ANNUAL MEETING

The adjourned annual meeting of the Hawera Gun Club was held m Mr Haycock's res dence last evening. There was a good attendance, and Mr P. A. Lundberg occupied the chair. An apology for unavoidable absence was received from the president (Mr C. Goodson). The following officers were elected: President, Mr C. Goodson; vice-presi-dents, Messrs J. Russell, A. B. Burrell, B. C. Bennett, C. Curtis, A. C. Card, J. Anderson, J. Harrington, J. Riley, R. ~T. J. McNeill. C. Kneeborte, E. Thurston, senr.;" secretary, Mr Hall; committee, Messrs A. Morse B. Seaver, P. A. Lurdberg, W. O'Brien, Pawson, senr., Pawson. jnr., H. Gundersen, E. Thurston, Isherwood, McLanachan, Wills, J. Hodge, W. Busby, and H. A. Haycock; auditor, Mr H. B. Burdekin; handicappers Messrs Seaver and Hull; referee, W. O'Bren; trapper, H. A. Haycock.

The .secretary reported that the rer cent shoot showed a balance of about £5, whigh members considered to be very satisfactory. Votes of thankswere accorded all those who assisted in making the shoot so successful.

It was decided to write to the president of the Racing Club thanking the club for the use of the course for sports.

It was agreed to hold another shoot on Wednesday, June 23, Mr O'Brien providing a trophy valued at two guineas, which was accepted with applause. The president, it was stated, had given a valuable cup for competition among the members, which is to be fire 3 for at club shoots. Mrs Cramp had also given a gold medal for competition. It was agreed to hold a half-crown novice sweepstake on the occasion of every shoot so as to encourage new members.

A hearty vote of thanks was accorded to Mr Pawson senr., and Mr Pawson, junr., for loan of ar.d attending to the traps at last week's shoot. Messrs Haycock and Isherwood were appointed a refreshment committee. A vote of thanks to the Press, and to the chairman concluded ait enthusiastic meeting.
