BARQUENTINE'S ROUGH VOYAGE

luckland, June 14, The six-masted barquentine E. R. Sterling, which arrived from Newcastle to-day, met with tempestuous weather on the voyage. During the height of the storm the mainsail, mizzen and two top-gallant sails were blown away. An exceptionally big sea which came on board shifted the midship deckhouse, which is used as quarters for the apprentices, and the bunks and their contents were washed away. Water* also flooded the cabins and did much damage to the ship's stores. During the1 voyage an apprentice sustained a broken arm, and was almost washed overboard. The shin's carpenter- and the mate also received minor injuries.
