SOCKBURN, May 14. Kohu will most likely be setifc out favorite for the Welcome Hurdles, but Hylans and Gaylight will both have a strong following.

Coalition will Fe first choice for the Renown Steeplechase, but Manawapango and San Sebastian, after their showing at Timaru, will be well supported. Opinion is divided which will start favorite, lArrowsmith. or Amythas. but if it is a, fast run race Karo will be at the pair of them. It looks as if the going is sure to be holding. Kilrush looks like ending up favorite for the Royal Handicap, . with Sunart next in demand, and it looks like them fighting it out. Gray will he on Kilrush.

Onslaught broke down hopelessly yesterday and his racing days are over. Brackenfield, Hetaua, Royal Stag, Warlike, Kildce, and Marc Anthony have no chance in the Royal Handicap. Primum and Nightra'ider look like carrying most money in the Cornwall, but if a decent rider is obtainable for Will Oakland he should win.

Silver Peak will go out favorite for the Sanidringham Welter, and on Timaru form she should win, but Killowen and Torfreda will also be heavily supported. McPlynn will ride Amythas. .
