Italy and France are competing for a prize of 25,000 francs and a trophy •f similar value. NEW YORK, Aug. 27. Lieut. Plumb and Lieut. Maynard, fjoth, Americans, have completed the flight from New York to Toronto and back in the international airplane race. Both encountered severe weather conditions. Major Schroeder, an American, will probably be the winner of the airplane race. He completed the trip from Toronto to New York and back, his flying time being 575 minutes, despite bad weather.
