IMPROVEMENT IN GOODS SERVICE.
Advice has been received that the general manager has agreed to accede to the request of Mr Wilkinson, M.P., supported by Mr Pearce, M.P., the Hawera Chamber of Commerce, and other bodies to run one train a week from Patea and New Plymouth for the purpose of carrying building materials, cement, and articles which are not on the "essential" list. The improvement should relieve the position consiiderablv.
