RAILWAY CURTAILMENT
TIMBER TO BE CARRIED
(BT TELEGEAPH —PEESS ASSOCIATION.) WELLINGTON, Aug. 26. Mr R. W. Smith, M.P. for Waimarino, has received the /following telegram from the general manager of railways in reply to a request that a definite statement should be made regarding the carrying of timber on the railways: 'Your telegram received re timber workers. The improvements which are now being made in the railway services will enable the sawmills to be carried on as usual."
