RACE RIOTS AT CHICAGO

BY CABLE—PRESS ASSOCIATION—COPYBIGHT NEW YORK, Aug. 1. With more than 3000 troops, which are now patrolling Chicago, and a like number held in reserve, order is being gradually restored. Nevertheless, the disorders, which have resulted in 32 deaths and 500 wounded, still smoulder. To-day one negro was killed and six seriously injured. Thirty-seven f.res were reported during the day, all of which occurred in negroes' homes. Although the riots are subsiding, bands of white rioters are attacking negroes wherever they are found.
