1 . OF COLONIAL PRODUCE. Mr Beauchamp, in his address at the Bank of New Zealand meeting today, gave a return of the payments made by the Imperial Supplies Pur- , chase Department for produce commandeered and shipped up to May 17 last. They are: Meat £35,734,035 Cheese 13,709,361 Butter 6,155,597 Wool 37,776,422 Slips Wool 4,173,674 Sheepskins 1,680,781 Hides 730,473 Scheelite 138,540 Other Business 1,733,469 Total £101,832,352 j iHe expressed the opinion that there would be little difficulty about the stores being cleared of dairy produce before the new reason r opened. As to j meat he said: Owing "to the large j amount of meat in store, it is difficult to see how a complete clearance can be effected before next season's operations begin in November; but on a conservative basis it may be estimated that sufficient tonnage will be available to clear freezing companies' stores Ito an extent that will enable killings !to proceed without interruption well into next season, i
