DEATH UNDER ANAESTHETIC.

A child named yactor Ernest Gowen, j aged 5 years, son of Mr G. Gowen,! Mangorei road, died at the New Ply- i month Hospital' on Saturday night while; under the influence of an anaesthetic. He was being operated upon by Dr. Fookes for acute appendicitis, the. anaesthetic "being administered by Dr.: Wade. At the inquest the verdict returned was that death took place while deceased was undergoing an operation, and was due to the sudden flooding of the larynx with blood and to suffocation. —News.
