The House #of Lords adopted a motion demanding an enquiry into the Slough Motor Repairing Depot, on, which the Government had spent' £1,100,000 and proposed to spend a further £600,000. Critics declared that the depot was unnecessary, that the expenditure hitherto was wasteful in the extreme, and that it would be bet- J ter to cut the loss.
