MANAIA HORTICULTURAL SOCIETY

To-morrow will be a great day in Manaia, when the annual show will be held on the pretty Domain grounds. The entries this year are very good, and will ensure an excellent display of pot plants, cut- flowers vegetables, fruit, and home industries. In addition there will be a series of interesting competitions, comprising horse and pony leaping, factory and utility horse, children s ponies and donkey race A very instructive competition will be the judging of Jersey cows by boys. This is most useful for the budding farmers, and should bring out a large number of competitors. The children will be provided for with races throughout the day. There will be a series of selections by the Manaia Brass Band, which will be an added attraction In the evening there will be a gift auction in aid of the Society's funds. Everything points to a most interesting and enjoyable outing., The secretary asks that stewards be on the ground at 8 a.m. to-morrow, and that the ladies meet to-night in the Town Hall to make necessary arrangements.
