OBITUARY.
DR. MARY DOWLING
It is with deep regret we record the death of Dr. Mary Dowling, of Haw'era, which occurred this afternoon in the Nolautown Private ll.ospital. Dr. Dowling. who was only 26 years of age, was the daughter of Mrs Dowling, of New Plymouth, and brother of Mr Dowling, chemist, of Hawera. The late Dr. Mary Dowling commenced the practice of her profession here a few months ago, and was building up a splendid connection. She was stricken with influenza a little over a week ago. After a few days pneumonia supervened, and she passed away this afternoon. Probably the strain of the hard and unceasing work she was called upon to do in the week or two preceding her illness, contributed in some d«gr*ie to her contracting the epidemic and the pneumonia which followed. Her untimely death will be widely deplored. Much sympathy will be felt for her motlher and relatvies in their sad loss.
