THE POSITION AT MANAIA.

(From Our Own Correspondent.) There is an improvement in the majority of cases in the hospital since Wednesday. There were three admissions on Thursday. The total number of in-patients is 19. We regret to report the death of Te Araroa (Mrs W. Robinson), of Glenn road, from influenza; also the death of Mrs W. Lister, of Manaia, in Hawera, following confinement, her husband being at the time in hospital at Trentham with influenza. We are glad to nave Dr Munro Hocken back. Messrs Hansen and Scannell have Been visiting Maori pas with medicines, disinfectants, etc., and doing good service. The community owes a large debt of gratitude to the nurses and voluntary helpers of both sexes, who continue to "carry on" in such a whole-hearted and efficient way. The low rate of mortality is no doubt due to their unremitting care and energetic action.
