PATRIOTIC COMMITTEE.
A meeting of the Eltham PatrioticCommittee was held last night, when;, there were present: Messrs T. B. Crump (chair), Hon. Carncross; L. "B-. Grimstone, E. Parrott, J. L. Campbell;,. W. A. Curteie, A. A. Stewart, and Dil Syme ,(hon. sec.).Regimental Funds.—On the motion, of the chairman, the. amount of Eltham's quota, viz., £25, to-the Regimental Fund was passed for payment. The sum of £15 10s clothing allowances was ffranted, and a special grant of 10s per week for three months was made in another case. The annual meeting of the committee will be. held on October 2. PERSONAL. The Eltham friends of Mrs Espiher, formerly a resident her, will regret to hear that her son, Lance-Oorp P J Espiner, has been killed in action Amongst the wounded; is a son pfj Mre T R. Hart, of Eltham, viz., Rflsin*! A. L.^Sturmay, DiC:M.; also Lahce^ Corp. C. J. BaH and Private Harris.
