ENTERTAINMENTS.

ALLEN DOONE COMPANY. This evening Mr Allen Doone will appear at the Hawera Opera House. ''Lucky O'Shea" will be the production, and is said to be the finest Irish drama of to-day. As a picture of Ireland it has never been equalled. "Lucky O'Shea" reflects the nature of the Irish. 'It is an enjoyable love story, and brisk characterisation confirm its claim to be one of the brightest musical comedy dramas. As an exponent of Irish drama, Mr Allen Doone has achieved much distinction in all States of the Commonwealth. Mr Doone is a versatile sportsman as well as an actor; he is a great sculler, a crack shot, a champion cyclist, and very good with the gloves. The plan for Hawera season is open at P. T. Donnelly and Co.'s. CAPPELLI. The appearance of Signor Cappelli, the great Italian tenor, at the Opera House to-morrow evening will be regarded as a musical event of rare oc.currence, for the visits of artists of such distinction as Cappelli are few and far between. Cappelli is presented as one of the leading operatic tenors of the day, and his wonderful singing has been described both as a joy and an education to those privileged to sit and listen as his glorious tones ring out, and while opera is his forte, yet Cappelli includes in his repertoire several charming romances and serenades by great composers. Signor Cappelli does not make his appearance as a stranger, for he is easily remembered as the gifted artist heard with the Gonzales Opera Company when that body toured the Dominion last year. Adequate support will be given Signor Cappelli by Mr John Amaclia, the brilliant flautistMiss Vera Bedford, soprano; Signor Cesaroni, bass ; and Mr Harold Whittle accompanist. The box plan for the one concert is at P. T. Donnelly and Co.'s.
