NELSON, Aug. 5. on- d. Allen was the principal speaker at a large citizens' gathering expressing -inflexible determination to prosecute tlie war to a successful conclusion. He Avas also present at a luncheon to returned soldiers, and in the afternoon a monster procession and gathering in Trafalgar Park in aid of the Italian Red Cross. Sir J. Allen is proceeding to Motueka and Takapu, and thence to the I West Coast. I
