WARM AMERICAN TRIBUTES. (Received Aug. 5, 12.40 p.m.) NEW YORK, Aug. 4. Newspapers throughout €he country pay a tribute to England on the anniversary of the .war and the part she has played. The World says: "Never since the beginning of English history have her people risen to nobler heights of duty, and when victory is finally won over Prussianism it will be due entirely to British sea power more than anything else." * The Herald says: "When Britain declared war against Germany she sounded the knell of the Kaiser's world ambitions. England has raised more men in proportoin to population ihan any of the Allies, and has likewise made greater contributions in money —Aus - N.Z. Cable Assn.
