- ENEMY HUSTLED BACK. (Received Aug. 5, 12.5 p.m.) • LONDON, Aug. 4. The French, with the Anglo-Ameri-cans,, on Friday advanced oil a front of fifty kilometres, attaining a depth of ten kilometres in some places. The enemy continued-his retreat on Saturday, and General Mangin followed up his success, and maintained hustling tactics between Soissons and Rheims, the Allies on Saturday night holding the whole line of the .Aisne and Vesle between Soissons and Fismes. Their < progress east of Fismes has not yet reached the Vesle. French cavalry patrols are operating along the Sois*-sons-Rheims railway,—Aus.-N.Z. Cable Assn.
